Compliance From Someone Who Has Been on the Jobsite
WayPoint Environmental Management & Compliance was founded by Derrick Lummus with a simple goal: provide construction teams with stormwater compliance support from someone who understands the jobsite, the regulations, and the responsibility that comes with protecting a project.
The name WayPoint reflects Derrick's background and the values behind the company. After growing up working on his family's farm, Derrick learned early the importance of hard work, attention to detail, and taking pride in doing a job the right way. Those lessons continued through his eight years of service in the United States Army, where discipline, preparation, and accountability were essential every day.
After his military service, Derrick brought that same mindset into Texas construction, spending time working as an estimator and project manager on site-work and civil construction projects. He understands the challenges contractors face—the changing site conditions, tight schedules, subcontractor coordination, and pressure to keep projects moving.
The WayPoint name represents having a clear path forward. In construction, just like in the field, the right plan and preparation help you avoid problems before they happen. Our goal is to give contractors confidence that their stormwater compliance is handled correctly from the beginning.
